According to a Cengage/Morning Consult survey, 75% of employers say they have a difficult time finding college graduates with the soft skills they need. And Nobel Prize-winning economist James Heckman said, “We now have very hard evidence that you have to have soft skills in order to succeed. There’s evidence that soft skills can be learned and mastered. Programs that enhance soft skills have an important place."
It's an important place for Gene Mosley’s B.E.C.S.™ Program, which stands for Brand, Experience, and Communication Skills, and stems from his own struggles as a college graduate. In this program, Gene offers insights on preparing oneself for the transition from a college student to a professional in the real world.
As a former student, college graduate, and recovered laid-off employee, after being laid off from his low-paying job and having to work 44 temporary jobs—including cleaning trash, giving out food samples, and sweeping floors—despite holding a Master's Degree, he totally understands the stress, frustrations, and struggles that college graduates experience when they graduate without the essential skills that will allow them to get a job in their field and thrive within it. Developing his B.E.C.S. allowed him to overcome those struggles, and after having a very successful career in the wellness industry, he is now an 8-Time Author, Professional Speaker, Communications Coach, Certified Behavior Change Specialist, and the CEO of inGENEious Motivation, LLC. He is determined to help others avoid or stop making the same mistakes he encountered before graduating by helping them develop their B.E.C.S., which are skills essential not only for preparing for a career but also for excelling in it.
The B.E.C.S. program is a blueprint for career preparation before graduation that Gene wishes he had when he was in college. This program will challenge attendees to be proactive towards their career achievement before graduating. They will learn:
Brand Development:
- Understanding personal brand awareness
- Professional representation online and in person
-Importance of Resume/Cover Letter Representation
-Present Oneself as an Asset to a Company or Organization through Storytelling
